Sterling returned to action at the Main Event Saturday Night Card in Newark, New Jersey, defending his title against former two-division champion Henry Cejudo.
It was a close fight - some fans on social media seemed to be pointing for the returning former champion - but it ultimately went to Sterling by split decision.
Thanks to the win over Cejudo, Sterling has defended the UFC bantamweight belt three times, more than any other fighter in the organization's history.
For this historic achievement, he will be rewarded with a good fight.
