After missing Game 2 with a sprained right ankle, the Miami Heat star started again for Game 3 against the New York Knicks on Saturday.
Butler injured his ankle late in the first game of the fourth quarter and limped into the final five minutes.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Butler received round-the-clock medical attention but was unable to play in Game 2, a game the Knicks also won in the series.
Butler injured his right ankle 5:05 before winning Heat's Game 1 when Josh Hart accidentally kicked his ankle as Butler got up for a shot.
