Drag artists will always have a place on Lizzo's stage, the "Juice" artist said during Friday's performance at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Performances by drag queens like Aquaria, Kandy Muse and Vanessa Vanji in social media concert posts.

"In light of recent and tragic events and current events,  people on the internet have been telling me, 'Say your shows in Tennessee,' 'Don't go to Tennessee,'"

Lizzo said during a break in her performance. "Your cause was important, but why  not get to the people who need  this message the most?"

"Why not create a safe place in Tennessee for us drag artists and  our differences to celebrate?"

Lizzo's speech was applauded by the audience. He thanked the people of Tennessee for "standing up for our rights, protecting one another, and holding the people charged to protect us accountable."

In a comment on Instagram, Aquaria wrote of her involvement in the performance: "Thank you for the platform for me and the dragsters and especially for building up the Queens of Tennessee!

All of these women are very strong and brave and so tonight was by far the best time for everyone.
